Coming Along

The last two days we have been able to prime and paint the mast!! We had problems with overspray at the boat yard and hurried through the painting due to the weather but it will look much better and we'll get her up on the boat soon. We had some guests here at the park that own a machine shop and they helped us drill our chainplate holes. We need two 13/16" holes drilled in Brett's stainless steel plates. They brought them back yesterday and didn't charge us! It was very sweet.

We are so close to getting the mast stepped. We also talked to the crane operator yesterday who happened to be at the boat yard and the stepping up is cheaper than what we were told. So we are really excited at being able to step it up next payday.

Last week, I had the mail deliverer ask me if I would work for the Post Office temporarily. I said the postmaster could call me. He called me on Wednesday and then again on Thursday. I told him I needed to talk to my husband. We decided I couldn't make the classes in Houston and couldn't drive to work since we have no car. It would be difficult to do. If we were here on a more permanent basis, I would have done it because it is a great opportunity!! But our goal is to sail in a few months. He said he would call back on Friday but I hadn't heard from him. He had stopped by to ask me about it too! I have never been recruited like that for a job! It was really nice and I really wanted to do it. But it just wasn't quite enough hours to do it instead of the park and I couldn't do both...But it was nice to be thought of.

I am really looking forward to the fall where I can start doing jewelry shows. Brett and I are going to try and do more boat work too. I want to clean boats and do woodwork. i think between the shows and the boatwork, we would make plenty to pay our bills. Brett has a big job lined up that will pay for a lot of the entrance fees to the shows so I can get them lined up. I miss my jewelry a lot. I may even start my website back up once I quit working for the park. I'll have more time to make Post Office runs.

I have been doing well on my weight loss. This lifestyle change has made a huge difference. I have lost... wow.. like, 20 lbs since February! Didn't realize it! Cool!

Hope everyone is doing well. Miss you all a lot.
